The digital landscape, once a haven for genuine connection and knowledge sharing, has increasingly transformed into a breeding ground for grifters—those who peddle deceit, half-truths, and empty promises in exchange for clicks, likes, and, ultimately, profit.

This pervasive culture of grifting raises a critical question: has the internet turned into a facade where nobody is truly of substance anymore?

The Rise of Grifting

Grifting, in its simplest form, involves manipulating others for personal gain. The internet, with its boundless reach and relative anonymity, provides the perfect stage for grifters to thrive.

The algorithm-driven nature of social media platforms further exacerbates this issue, prioritizing engagement metrics over quality and depth. As a result, genuine voices are often drowned out by the cacophony of grifters who have mastered the art of clickbait.

The Erosion of Trust

One of the most damaging consequences of rampant grifting is the erosion of trust. When everyone seems to be selling something—whether it's a miracle diet, a get-rich-quick scheme, or a dubious self-help book—cynicism becomes a natural defense mechanism.

Why I Started the Doomer Bloomer Podcast

Back in 2019-2020, I felt a profound need to address this growing issue. The internet, which had once been a source of inspiration and learning for me, had become cluttered with empty promises and shallow content. I wanted to create something that stood in stark contrast to this trend—something authentic, substantial, and genuinely helpful.

That’s why I started the Doomer Bloomer podcast.
